MM2H (Malaysia, My Second Home) Program offers a unique opportunity for foreigners to reside in Malaysia in long-term. The program was recently revised in June 2024.

Applicants are divided into two age categories: 35-49 years and 50 years & above. And
• Applicants must have RM1,500,000 in liquid assets at the time of application.
• Applicants must have an overseas monthly income of RM40,000 at the time of application.
• A pre-approval letter must be obtained, and a fixed deposit account of RM1,000,000 must be opened locally.
• During the entire residency period, a maximum of 50% of the deposit can be withdrawn for purposes such as purchasing property, medical expenses, and education.
• MM2H applicants can bring their spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents over 60 to live in Malaysia, with the right to stay for 5 years and unlimited entry and exit. However, an additional RM50,000 must be deposited in the fixed deposit account for each accompanying family member.

Applicants' children can enjoy local educational benefits, while adults can benefit from investment and business opportunities. Applicants under the Second Home program may work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours per week, but must be approved professional skilled workers by the immigration department.
